"Survivor" contestant to keynote Collaborative In-Service
MORRIS, Minn. -- Holly Hoffman, a finalist from Survivor: Nicaragua and author of You Winner Within will be the keynote speaker at the seventh annual Collaborative In-Service at the Morris Area Schools on Wednesday, Aug. 21.
The Collaborative In-Service brings nearly 600 staff members from eight school districts — Browns Valley, Campbell-Tintah, Chokio-Alberta, Hancock, Herman-Norcross, Morris Area, West Central Area, and Wheaton Area, along with the Midwest Special Education Cooperative and St. Mary's School (Morris) — together for a productive, yet enjoyable, day of activities, training, and meetings.
Members of the public are invited to Hoffman's keynote presentation, "Never Give Up! The Survivor Way," at 12:45 pm in the Morris Area Elementary Concert Hall.
Staff attending the Collaborative In-Service represent nearly 3,000 students from their schools and includes all employees -- teachers, cooks, custodians, paraprofessionals, administrators, bus drivers, office staff, community education staff, technology coordinators, etc.
"The Collaborative In-Service serves as an excellent example of how schools in rural Minnesota continue work together and provide high-quality professional development opportunities for all of our staff members while stretching limited resources," said Morris Area Superintendent Scott Monson. "This event will benefit students and staff from each of our schools, and we are excited that this year marks the seventh consecutive year we have held this educational and motivational event."
