The memorial service for Phyllis Dyer of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Morris, Minn., will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Federated Church in Morris. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Reverend Jennifer Amy-Dressler will be officiating. Burial will be at Summit Cemetery in Morris.

Phyllis Gale Dyer, daughter of Frederich and Anne (Heinrich) Dyer was born November 16, 1921 in Donnelly, Minn. Phyllis grew up on the family farm near Donnelly and attended grade school at rural District 56 school. She later graduated high school in Alberta. Following high school, Phyllis attended school at St. Cloud School of Business receiving an associate's degree. Phyllis married Darrel Dyer in 1942 in Alamenda, Calif After marriage, the couple made their home on the family farm where they continued to farm for one year. Later, they moved to Glenwood, Minn. where Phyllis assisted Darrel in his insurance business for four years. In 1950, the couple made their home in Morris, Minn. Phyllis worked at University of Minnesota Morris and retired in 1982. In 2011, Phyllis moved to Tucson, Ariz/ to live with her daughter, Dawn.

Phyllis was a member of Federated Church and Ladies Fellowship. She enjoyed golf, gardening, needle work, and playing cards. Phyllis loved playing Bridge and baking during her last two years in Tucson. She was the hand and foot and rummikub champion. Phyllis made new friends in Tucson, but always talked about her friends in Morris and enjoyed the cards she received. Phyllis was a wonderful wife and mother. She was a very sweet spirit who is so much missed by her daughter and son-in-law Bob.

Phyllis died on September 4, 2013 in Tucson, Ariz. She was 91 years old.

She is survived by two children: Bernard (Doris) Dyer and Dawn (Robert) Traficanti; three grandchildren: Tracy, Trent and Teigan Dyer. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Frederich, Julius and Charles.
