Lucille Miller

Funeral services for Lucille Miller of Morris, formerly of Chokio, will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio. Father Peter VanderWeyst will be officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chokio and for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Chokio.

Lucille Pauline Doll, daughter of Theodore and Christine (Schmitz) Doll, was born July 26, 1916 in Dumont, Minnesota, where she grew up and began her schooling. On May 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to LaRue Miller. To this union seven children were born. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Waubun for a few years, before moving to Collis, where they lived for five years. They then moved south of Alberta to the Clarence Schuster farm for ten years, then out to Seattle, Washington for two years. They moved to the Chokio area, eventually purchasing a farm site north of Chokio, where they continued to live until LaRue died on April 17, 1990. Lucille continued to live on the farm for a year after LaRue died and then bought a house in Alberta, where she continued to live until 2003, when she moved to West Wind Village.

Lucille enjoyed gardening, traveling the countryside and flying in the Ercoupe with LaRue. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Lucille died on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at West Wind Village in Morris, MN, having lived to reach the age of 93 years.

She is survived by her seven children: Carrie (Chuck) Foley of Inver Grove Heights, Neil (Karen) Miller of Inver Grove Heights, Thelma (Dave) Jackson of Chester, IL, Fern (Jim) Dietz of Northrup, Lyle (Marilyn) Miller of Morris, Benny (Marcia) Miller of Alexandria and Kathleen (Mike) O'Donnell of Wabasha; 21 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Bernice Bohnenstingl of Wheaton, Francis Doll of Deer Creek, Margaret (Richard) Rothschadl of Waubon, Harlyn Doll of Washington, Joan Canady of Washington, Mae Donahue of Washington, Teddy Doll of Seattle, WA and Annie (Jerry) Jipson of Graceville and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, LaRue Miller; her parents and siblings: Florentine Miller, Cletus Doll, Herbert Doll, Deloris Payton, Mary Doll and Gertrude Doll.

Pallbearers for the service are: Russell Foley, John Foley, David Doll, Rodney Rothschadl, LaRue Miller and Mike Payton. JoAnne Foley will serve as organist for the service with Sandy Marlow-Weber will serve as song leader. Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in charge of the arrangements.
