Eagles shutout Walleyes in seven
The Morris Eagles easily swept the Wheaton Walleyes on Friday, June 20 in Wheaton.
The Eagles started in the first, putting up a four spot, then just kept plugging away adding runs every inning except the sixth to shutout the Walleyes 14-0 in seven innings.
Tanner Picht led the Eagles at the plate, going 4-4 with a home run and five RBI and scoring twice himself. Bryce Jergenson also had a three-run home run for his lone hit of the night, and Mac Beyer went 2-for-3, hitting two doubles for the Eagles.
Nate Gades got the credit for the W on the mound in the shutout. Gades pitched six innings and allowed just three hits while striking out four. Mitch Carbert finished off the final inning with a strikeout.
Next up for the Eagles is a home game against Montevideo on Wednesday, June 25 with the first pitch being thrown at 7:30 p.m.
