DFL bus tour encourages voters to get to the polls

House Minority Leader Paul Thissen (at podium) encourages audience members at a rally on Saturday, Nov. 3 to get out to vote on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

MORRIS - House Minority Leader Paul Thissen encouraged audience members at a DFL rally at the University of Minnesota, Morris on Saturday that if the DFL takes control of the Minnesota legislature, the top priority will be investing in higher education.

"We will focus on getting people back to work and getting people jobs and investing in the infrastructure of this state instead of focusing on divisive social issues," Thissen said, criticizing GOP legislative leadership.

Thissen was joined at the rally by State DFL Chair Ken Martin, Representative Terry Morrow, Deputy House Minority Leader Debra Hilstrom, and candidates John Schultz (Senate District 12) and Jay McNamar (House District 12A) as part of a DFL Road to Progress Bus Tour leading up to Tuesday's general election.

Thissen also told the audience that "the road back to the majority runs right through this district," praising Schultz and McNamar. After the rally, students and candidates participated in a get out the vote door knocking effort at UMM.
