David Lee Yarger of Coon Rapids, died Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Unity Hospital in Fridley. He was 64.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at First Lutheran Church in Morris. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church and lunch will follow. Interment will be in Summit Cemetery, Morris.

David Lee Yarger, son of Donald and Sylvia (Ronnie) Yarger, was born June 10, 1949, in Morris. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church. After graduating from Morris High School, he attended Fergus Falls Junior College and then spent several years engaging in his passion for music as a drummer and backup singer for several bands (including The Amusement Park and Inner Sanctum) which performed in the Midwest. He then worked in Minneapolis until his retirement in 2011. Dave married Ruth Schlichtmann in Minneapolis in 1973, they later divorced. Dave's love of music continued throughout his life and he spent his last days in the hospital with Beatles music in the background.

Dave is survived by his daughter: Kelly (Corey) Maggiolo, grandson: Brandon Maggiolo of Blaine; his mother Sylvia Yarger of Morris; sister Kay (Richard) Werpy of Erie, Colorado; three nephews, four aunts and uncles, 16 cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Yarger and an infant sister.
