Bernice Mary Miller was born on May 5, 1927 in New Leipzig, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Susan (Phillips) Miller. Her family moved to Grand Forks, N.D. and she graduated from high school there. She was married to John Lannon on Aug. 24, 1948 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Grand Forks. The couple continued to reside there for a few years. John's career caused them to change locations several times throughout their lives and they lived in Las Vegas, Nev., Cadillac, Mich., Montevideo, Fargo, N.D., Morris, Underwood, and Henning. They moved to Alexandria, in 1999. John died in 2001. Bernice spent the rest of her life in Alexandria. She took joy in being a homemaker and raising her seven children. She loved to bake and many looked forward to her special caramel rolls. She was an avid reader and a sharp bridge player. She enjoyed her exercise group at Curves as well as her water exercises and her coffee outings with friends. Bernice will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. She loved to have fun, especially with her special lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Gloria. Her best times were those spent surrounded by family. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy and she loved them dearly. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly. We miss her already.
